What was Cedar Creek Resort before this?
Cedar Creek Ranch was owned previously by the Clausen family.  They had the original three homes that surround Newman Lake. The Cottage, A-Frame and the Lodge were used by the family that raced horses in the 80’s and 90’s. Then a local businessman purchased it from them and named it Cedar Creek Lodge. He built the additional 6 cabins and updated the A-frame and the Lodge. He added the commercial kitchen in the Lodge and the snack bar was built inside the indoor riding arena that he converted to a skeet-shooting gallery. He had planned to use all the space as an Executive Retreat Center for corporate business meetings and a hunter’s paradise with a state-of-the-art skeet shooting operation. After his  death it sat empty for several years before Ordway Properties and Life Christian Outreach purchased it in July of 2010.

What is the WiFi connection and code?
Connect to Main Cabin and the code is lake1234 for the cabins and connect to Cedar Creek RV Guest and use lake12345 for the RV Park code. This will leave you logged in for 2 days and then you will need to re-connect.

What kind of fish are in the lake?
We are over-stocked with Bass, Crappie, Blue Gill and Catfish primarily, but there has been other kinds taken out at times as well. According to the local conservation department we could have 1,000 fish taken out every month for a year and we would finally get to a “normal” amount of fish for this size lake.

Where can I purchase fishing bait?
Closest place is the Millersburg gas station which is 4 miles south on J to the T in the road and turn left. They have a bait shop in the back corner.

Do I need a fishing license?
As long as you do not take the fish off the property there has never been a question since this is a private lake.

Where can I clean the fish I catch?
There is a fish cleaning station at the north side of Cabin #1. It has lights and electric if you want to filet your fish there as well.

How deep is this lake?
Newman Lake is 27 acres large, but averages only 4 to 6 feet deep except by the dam where it is over 18 feet deep.

Can I swim in the lake or ponds here?
Swimming in any lake or pond on our property is done at your own risk. There are no life guards and it is like any other Missouri lake that you are swimming with the local wildlife, critters and fish. We know there are several turtles and a couple muskrats that also call these waters home.
